Asaf brings a unique combination of product leadership experience from category-defining security companies and operational leadership from elite military units. Before Mate, he led core product areas at Wiz, helping shape its CSPM and Vulnerability Management offerings into category leaders used by top Fortune 500 companies. He started his product journey in Microsoft’s elite product management program, contributing to the rise of Defender Vulnerability Management as a standalone product. His work helped thousands of security teams improve their vulnerability response capabilities across enterprise environments. Prior to tech, Asaf served as an officer in Israel’s most elite special forces unit, where he led complex operations and cross-functional teams under extreme pressure. This experience taught him how to build high-performing teams that execute flawlessly in chaotic environments – skills he now applies to product development and company building at Mate.
